I cannot get Spiced Onions locally where I live and they are my favourite
side-dish. Does anyone have a recipe for what looks like a fairly simple
dish to prepare?

Cheers

Just found this other recipe using cinnamon:

Spiced Onions: Slice two medium red onions. Combine with 1 cup of
white vinegar, 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup of water and 3 cinnamon sticks,
broken in half. Place in sealed container and refrigerate for at least
24 hours or up to 7 days. Makes 1 quart. Spiced Onions should be
prepared at least 24 hours in advance.

Here's another simple recipe that works rather well with tandoori style
chicken.

Indian Onion Salad (Kache Piaz acc. To Julie Sahni)

4 oz onion, sliced as thinly as possible

¾ tsp salt

¼ tsp paprika (the deepest color you can find)

4 tab lemon juice

1/8 tsp cayenne

Combine and let rest in refrigerator for at least 20 minutes.

As the recipe says, the deeper red paprika the better but it tastes good
whatever!

Don't you think the term 'readers' was a bit optimistic. I went over for a
look and instantly doubled the traffic on your site.

We've all got to start somewhere though, so 10/10 for that.

OUCH! I guess I didn't see that one coming... :) Yes, the site is
new, I officially launched it on 1/1/2004 - I guess I should post that
in a more highly visible area in the introduction. I like hunting down
recipes, so I figured why not launch a site for others to enjoy?

My intent is that people will request recipes and those requests will
be featured in the sites newsletter in a 'WANTED' section, along with
articles and other stuff.

You might want to give the request request feature a try... I think
you will be happy with the overall process of requesting a recipe and
having it delivered to your inbox to decide if the recipe was what you
were looking for or not. If it is what you were looking for, you can
follow a link to accept it, and it will be automatically removed from
the request list. If you choose the decline link, it will remain in
the request list. - Both actions will move the new recipe to the
database for others to enjoy!

Sounds interesting, will give it a try (but if it turns out to not be
properly cross-platform and is browser dependent[1] you'd better watch
out!!!)

[1] any site which pops up a message telling me to update IE
is avoiding/ignoring the concept of the "world wide web".

Thank you for giving it a try! - Please let me know how it goes. I
have tested it on three different browsers and it worked fine as far
as being cross-platform friendly, but they were each the up-to-date
version. What version of IE do you have?

I agree with your comment about the World-Wide-Web. On the same hand,
it can be tricky trying to deliver something to the world that gives
them a great experience, while at the same time tending to all
browsers... I believe I have done everything I can to include
everyone.

Thanks again!
