I am working on a motherboard with 3 SDRAM memory slots. Unfortunately
I cannot properly seat memory in any of them because the white
restraining clips at each end will not grip the memory sticks.

In fact all of the white clips just come out of their sockets (a
little swivel / push-in position) when any pressure is applied.

Has anyone got a "make do" solution to overcome this. Supergluing them
in place seems an option but I doubt if I could hold them exactly in
place to be sure of good seating, and of course if I get it wrong I
doubt if I could remove them intact for another try.

Take the motherboard out of the case , fit the memory , then use a hot glue
gun to apply a couple of blobs to each stick.
It will hold it firmly enough but can easily be removed when needed.

Good idea. Will give that a try.
