Funnily enough my friends and I were discussing Thatcher in the pub tonight The consensus was that although she started off well she sort of, well, went a bit mad - and that was from a predominantly conservative bunch of blokes Her policies - or should I say Keith Josephs policies - never personally did me any harm - however she did royally fuck in the ass a great number of people and because I actually believe in society her eventually passing will be met with glee from me Tricky |

news:nyja > > Gawd, you really have a thing about people on benefits, don't you? No that was Margaret Thatcher. Was it before or after she created 3 million unemployed, and now as it turns out another 4 million on Incapacity Benefit* in order to cook the books, that she and her cronies started banging on about the "Dependency Culture" ? michael adams "Hello Mr Smith. As you know we're going to close down all your mines as they're uneconomic. Which means you'll lose your job of course. However so as to keep the unemployment register below 3 million, we'd like you to say you have a "bad back". And if you do that, we'll pay you twice as much dole money, and you won't even have to sign on. So how does that suit ? No Mr Smith this isn't uneconomic as well. At least not until all the Oil Money runs out. And I'll be an old lady of 90 by that time, none of the vegetables are up to the job, so we'll leave the socialists to sort that one out." |

Tough on benefits, tough on the causes of Benefits*. Margaret Thatcher. As will be proved beyond doubt at her Show trial. Posthumous or not. michael adams * It was Tone of course who as shadow Home Secretary coined the phrase "Tough on Crime, Tough on The Causes of Crime". At the time Tone claimed he meant causes such as poverty and deprivation, but after it was nicked by Michael Howard, and Tone got into Office the causes became indiscipline and bad parents instead. Hence the record prison population under the Tory-Lites. |
