Does anyone have any experience of the campsite at Lovat Bridge?
I can only find one review, on uk.rec.walking 4 years ago, and it did not get a good write-up. All I am looking for is flat ground and a toilet. Hot water and a basin would be good. Somewhere to have a beer and something to eat would be luxury! The various review websites only seem to have the very basic information. Judith |

I don't know about the Lovat Bridge site, but I do know of a site in Bunchrew, just outside Inverness, not too far from Beauly. http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/de...asp?revid=3430 It was a couple of years ago when I last stayed there, but as a site it's fine. Flat pitches, good views over the Beauly Firth. The Clachnaharry Inn is a great little pub a couple of miles up the road towards Inverness. Does food too. [url down] I'm a bit biased as I have relatives who live in Bunchrew, but it really is a gorgeous area. boglin |

Unfortunately, the Bunchrew site would be too far to walk. I have a choice of wild camping, but it looks like farm-land rather than wild open country, or I could stay at Lovat Bridge. Judith |

Hi Judith, try http://www.geograph.org.uk/search.php?i=1039480 for pictures of the Beauly area. No campsite pictures but it gives you an idea of the area. I've been driving through it last year, a mixture of farmland and little woods iirc. Did you try a Google picture search ? |

Hi Theo. It looks like I expected, really. I'll phone the campsite to make sure they do still take tents. I'm sure it'll be OK, as I'm not looking for luxury! >Did you try a Google picture search ? Yes but only found pictures of the river and Beauly. Judith |
