Been laying horses since the start of the year and made some silly mistakes
and sometimes not learned from them. Got a call from my brother who pickeed
out a horse that had ticks in all the right boxes. This horse today:

1) was a 3 year old running in a handicap
2) was running in its first handicap
3) was the bottom weight in a handicap run on soft / heavy ground + a 3lb
claim from, an apprentice.

Having been caught out with each of these before I decided to have a punt on
it. £5 at 5.8 for a win and £15 at 2.16 for a place.

Romped home. Will look out for more like Border Castle in the future. Paid
for a trip up the pub to watch Arsenal win in similar style.

I'd certainly recommend the bottom weight for a place in soft / heavy going
in a handicap. They've been good value this week.

I also backed Royal Castle, but sadly before the price drifted out. I
also backed Echelon who I highlighted in my breeding notes, and the
price of both of these two were double what they would have been had
Fallon chosen to ride at Newmarket rather than Goodwood, so that is
another factor to add to your very sound list of points to remember. I
suppose their success was a huge tip for Chic but I didn't take it.
