Success! Yes, nitpickers, I know I missed it on Wednesday.

"Air pollution laws will prevent a new runway being built at Heathrow
for at least another decade, according to a newspaper report..."

"...The plans have provoked huge opposition among those living in the
affected areas.

But Heathrow will be ruled out until airport operator BAA has dealt
with the high levels of pollution around the airport - which is
unlikely to be until 2016 or later, according to The Times..."

What "success"? The efforts of the protestors haven't defeated BAA's wishes
to build a new runways. They will simply bide their time, get the rules
changed whilst the airlines and aircraft builders tweak their designs and
along comes the new runway.

There might well be a delay, but it is nothing to do with the protests by
climate change campaigners.

Yet again you have to try and take credit (even vicariously) where none is
due.

"Wednesday, 5 November, 2003,"

huh?

The third runway won't cause Heathrow to break any pollution limits,
because its been breaking them for years.
