A friend has just seen the Google Street view camera car in his housing
estate not too far from here this afternoon. It's not a special housing estate, just an ordinary place so watch out they could be down your street any day now. No nude gardening, no illicit visits to Mrs/Mr Nextdoor, make sure your windows are clean and nets sparkling white and for goodness sake don't pick you nose or scratch your bum :-) On a serious side I'd like to know why they are here now when we can't get the piccies yet as far as I can find out. Unless somebody knows better :-) |

They were going around Edinburgh streets a couple of months ago and also
above for the Arial views. Probably finish doing the country before they update the maps. Oh and my local Google Earth piccy was taken at dusk so about all you see are car and street lights. > "the website is equipped with "easily accessible tools for flagging > inappropriate or sensitive imagery for review and removal" > [..] And the street view has only recently been given the go ahead http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/7534755.stm |

What I meant was that they have already taken piccies of several UK places but they haven't put any on Google Earth yet and they aren't telling when they are going to. 'Sides what I read about the street view thingy gave me the impression that they were more or less real time piccies. |

Unless they've tapped into the CCTV surveilance cameras that seems *highly* unlikely. |

Have you a pic of a car with a Google logo on the door that's definitely linked to a particular area? The pics so far might be of the local council snoopers using their powers under the RIPA. Bad enough, but not quite the same thing. |
