Please ignore this message and move along - there's nothing to see
here - move along. I've been watching the Democratic National Convention on TV, and for the life of me I cannot understand how McCain could be so close in the polls to Obama. It absolutely *baffles* me how anyone of sound mind could *possibly* prefer McCain to Obama. It's insane! CJ (I warned you) |

If those figures hold up at the present time i wonder how much that adds to McCain and takes from Obama poll wise? |

What worries me, quite seriously, is that the white supremists will do something to him (rather unpleasant probably) if he gets elected. Is American conservatism ready for a BLACK President? Either that or they will bugger around with the black vote, as they did when George Dubbya got in. Fair and free elections.... not even we can get THAT right all of the time. I wonder what differs between the Americans and us when it comes to assassinating elected leaders( or attempting to assassinate them). As far as i am aware, and i admit my history is rusty,Spencer Percival was the only PM to be assassinated. How much do Americans vote on racial lines i wonder ? I know that there have been occasions when a non white candidate has done significantly less well than projected because when it comes to placing the X people might say 'yes i'll be voting for him/her' but on election day they choose not to vote for him/her because of his/her being non white. |

Funny you should mention that - I'm just about to knock off a quick system to scoop Friday's Euromillions jackpot. £70 million won't be enough to take out many politicians, but I should be able to target a few who particularly deserve it.
