I believe some modern WWPs no longer have screens inspired by glodfish bowls. CRTs were always circular (well in Braïn's days anyway), and fitted with a rubber mask to give the correct aspect ratio VERY approximately oblong (fsvo) , which did reduce the diagonal to a little less than the diameter of the chube. |
