The basis of his claim is that 'on the evidence' he has seen, he does
not believe that the gas chambers existed and that Jews (as well as
many others) died through starvation and disease. Instead of simply
dismissing him as a holocaust denier, the experts should be pointing
out the 'irrefutable evidence' to confirm the extent of the killing.
No other event in history is regarded as 'unquestionable', why should
the holocaust?

Surely because so very much of our present day 'reality' rests squarely
upon it's shoulders.

I mean it's even making tacit guest appearances in the 'recession'

Plus didn't your Granny ever tell you what happens if you pull on those
loose threads.??

Surely the point is that it is not really history yet and in a sense WW2
is still winding down with business outstanding. Apart from documents
which have yet to be released it seems reasonable to believe that there
might well be people living with secrets from those days which could
radically alter our understanding of a lot of things.
Whether it's a lamp cord (RH) or a noose (SH) there are health and
safety risks with certain types of knowledge and this is bound to
influence what we know.

What an utterly ridiculous statement.

*Most* events in history are regarded as "unquestionable".

It is just that most of them don't have sympathisers for the "baddies"
wanting to deny them, so they are not only "unquestionable", but
actually "unquestioned".

Being brave doesn't make him right.

Well quite. The story has radically changed since the 1950s and may
change further. The revelation of Enigma was delayed for 30 years
after the war for example.

Events far longer ago are constantly debated over. Nothing wrong at
all. Bottling up history don't work since it only creates doubt.

Just today I was reading an article in History Today about why Charles
1 fought at Naseby in 1645 when he did not have to and it meant the
end before long. It's uncertain.

I heartily recommend Blood Sweat and Arrogance about WW2 by Gordon
Corrigan. it places the whole affair iin its longer term military
perspective unlike most books which perpetuate the myth of Britain
going it alone to save the world from dictators.

WW2 is a propaganda weapon for those in power now. No wonder some
aspects are not supposed to invite enquiry.

As I tirelessly point out, 'The Holocaust' is not about what happened
in WW2. it's about power and money now and how minds can be moulded to
suit.
