I just went to iPlayer for Kermode's reviews, and got the message that
Real Player must be installed. Seems to affect other/all Radio at
iPlayer but it doesn't have to be installed for TV, and it didn't have
to be installed before.

The Kermode show can be downloaded as an mp3, but anyone know what's
up with iPlayer for Radio (or why they fixed something that wasn't
broken)?

Not sure what that does (seems to just give a .ram file), but I've
just gone back to iPlayer now and it works as it used to again. Ie,
click a radio programme on http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/ and it works. Earlier
it didn't work and said "install real player". Bizarre.

Anyway, for any Kermode listeners who might read this, I thought the
show was _really_ shit this week. The only film review I remember was
Lesbian Vampire Killers (apparently as terrible as it sounds). He
basically didn't even review The Damned United; just waffled about
Michael Sheen almost having a trial for Arsenal and Mike Yarwood doing
Cloughie voices.

The endless references to Marley and Me were tiresome and the the self
indulgent bollocks - twittering, Mayo's interruptions, audience
comments, silly voices, hellos to people they know - is really
starting to swamp the actual reviews.

I've always had a problem with film reviews anyway, remember it's
their job so they seem to be going through the motions and become
to wordy and detached.

Not sure if it's the same on the iplayer but BeyondPod on my Android
this week downloaded 2 separate shows - one tagged LVK & the other
Damned United.

Another happy customer! I'm the webmaster for iplayerconverter.co.uk -
thought I'd better clarify that all the site does is make the old
RealAudio links to radio programming more accessible. I'm hoping to
add AAC and/or Windows Media links in the near future, once the BBC
make the underlying data available in their XML feeds.

Of course with RealAudio you can then use various freely available
programs to download the RealAudio file and convert it to MP3 if you
want to be able to download a particular show.
