"Give me the child, and I will mould the man."

"Give me the child for seven years,
and I will give you the man."

"Give me the child until he is
seven and I care not who has him thereafter."

"Give me the child till the age of seven
and I will show you the man."

Seems that this does not apply to the rehabilitation Of Venables and
Thompson from the age of ten. In eight years the authorities had the
chance to educate them to a level where they could have gone on to
higher education from and made something of their lives. Both are
reported to be drug users, one a Homosexual and both reported to be doing
unskilled work.

(Allegedly)..

They didn't have the child until he was 10 (or older), the parents did.
Did they have a TV in their bedroom, were they allowed to watch violent
movies?

The chance of a fair trial for Venables on whatever rumoured charges he
now faces are non-existent, thanks to the media.

An ideal couple to enter into a civil marriage and adopt a child then.

Two of those quotes specify "until seven", so the rehabilitation was
three years too late.

Reports say that they had TV and computers. They evidently had a set
bedtime but I doubt it their lights were turned out.
They can have a trial with just a Judge as the two Heathrow robbers are
having. Possibly as he has been recalled they can leave whatever the
charge is on file.

He evidently had one prior to the killing.

Yes, the thought crossed my mind that a jury trial was out of the
question. Best just lock him up until he can be re-assessed.

Weird... Of course kids do some weird drawings, as some portraits of
their parents show... ;-)

If YOU do not know his new name/identity, nor your neighbour, nor him
down the road,, nor that woman in the pub in the next town, how might
members of any jury know him from any other person to stand before them?
So why the secrecy as to his supposed misdemeanour this time? the
secrecy is there ONLY to protect the authorities from scorn and ridicule
for letting him out

The seventeen police vehicles accompanying the van carrying him, and the
huge posse of media people around the courtroom might give a clue.
They know who he is, and only an injunction has stopped them revealing
his new identity and further details.

They have quoted "sources" who claim to have been in Liverpool clubs,
and described how he stayed later than his mates, and slept on the
railway platform before getting the morning train back to wherever he
lives.

I must admit that I'm inclined to feel that way too.

And in this day of the Internet I'm surprised it hasn't been leaked there.

I don't think so, I think it is the horrendous cost of changing his
identity yet again, and it would be more difficult now that he is 27
years old.

Have we got to pay for plastic surgery this time?

all it needs is a scalpel applied to the neck, and drawn around it, all
around it

If a 27 year old man with a Liverpool accent is charged with possessing
child pornography and turns up in court in the next few days, the jury
might jump to conclusions. Don't forget: jurors are now drawn from the
general population and about half the population are of less than
average intelligence.

The authorities are following the judge's sentence requirements.
